Pursuit suspect in custody after standoff

The standoff took place on the southbound 101 Freeway at Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.

A driver suspected in an alleged hit-and-run crash was arrested after leading authorities on a pursuit that ended with a standoff on the 101 Freeway in Hollywood. 

According to officials, officers began chasing the suspect around 8:55 a.m. Wednesday on the southbound side of the freeway north of Laurel Canyon Boulevard after he failed to yield, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The driver headed south toward downtown Los Angeles, where he ultimately came to a stop in the far left lane near Sunset Boulevard. 

The driver refused to get out of the vehicle, leading to a standoff for about 10 to 15 minutes with CHP officers. 

Officers ended up breaking a window to get the driver out and take him into custody. 

No officers were injured.
