Driver arrested after leading deputies on slow-speed chase
Sheriff's deputies spent more than 90 minutes Saturday evening in the slow-speed pursuit of a possibly stolen black Honda Civic that went from Lomita to Wilmington and ended in Harbor City.
LOS ANGELES - A driver was arrested after leading Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies on a 90 minute slow-speed pursuit Saturday night in Lomita.
The pursuit started about 7 p.m. on 259th Place in Lomita after the suspect allegedly stolen the vehicle and drove away from deputies. The pursuit traveled through Lomita, Wilmington and ended in Harbor City.
At one point during the pursuit, the suspect rammed into patrol cars. The driver of the black Honda Civic had been seen numerous times driving without the vehicle's headlights on.
The vehicle appeared to be driving on its rims after hitting a spike strip.

The black Honda Civic escaped a pair of attempted PIT maneuvers by sheriff's deputies just off the Pacific Coast Highway in Wilmington. The driver was continuing slowly along residential streets.

Deputies attempt PIT maneuver during slow-speed pursuit in Lomita
Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies Saturday night were in a slow-speed pursuit of a vehicle in Lomita.
The suspect finally stopped around 8:30 p.m. on Vermont Avenue and Anaheim Street near Ken Malloy Harbor Regional Park, in Harbor City.
Deputies ordered him to get out of the car 15-20 minutes before they pulled him out and took him into custody.
