Long Beach restaurant launches the 'No Straw Challenge'
LONG BEACH, Calif. (FOX 11) - A popular restaurant in Long Beach is issuing a challenge to all restaurants: stop serving drinks with straws unless a customer makes a request. It's a movement that is growing world wide.
More than 500 million straws are used every day and many of them end up in the ocean. Environmentalists say straws are a major contributor to global pollution.
Berlin Bistro in Long Beach is taking the lead on issuing straws only be request.
