LOS ANGELES - Brandon Blackstock, the former manager and ex-husband to Kelly Clarkson, has died. He was 48 years old.
The family announced the news in a statement Thursday to FOX News Digital. The statement was first obtained by People.

Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband dies
According to the statement, it reads, "It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away. Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during this very difficult time."
Blackstock began his career with Starstruck Entertainment, his father's company, and he managed musicians including Blake Shelton and Rascal Flatts, according to TMZ.

Blackstock and Clarkson got married in 2013. During their marriage, they welcomed two children together, River and Remington. Blackstock also had two children from a previous marriage, Savannah and Seth.
Kelly filed for divorce in 2020, and it was finalized in March 2022.
Kelly Clarkson postpones Las Vegas residency

The news comes one day after Clarkson announced she was postponing her Las Vegas residency because of her husband’s health issues.
"Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas," Clarkson said on Aug. 6. "While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them."
She added, "I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding."
