Crews working to contain Eagle fire in Corona

Firefighters were responding to a wildfire on Thursday afternoon in the area of Eagle Canyon Road and Cajalco Road in Corona.

The wind-driven "Eagle fire" was first reported just after 12 p.m. and burned approximately 25 to 35 acres, at a rapid rate. By 1:30 p.m., crews were able to stop the fire from further spreading.

Approximately 120 firefighters from CAL FIRE, Riverside County Firefighters and Corona City Firefighters responded to assist in the containment. 

Smoke from the fire could be seen from the City of Anaheim.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
