More than 15,000 popular children’s squeeze toys have been recalled over potentially serious injury hazards involving the water beads inside them, federal regulators said.

The recalls cover Squeezy Dumplings from GIHNJSI and Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun Toys from OKK Trading.
Both products contain water beads that can expand inside a child’s body if swallowed, creating a potentially deadly hazard, according to notices from the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The toys also violate mandatory federal safety standards because the beads can grow beyond the permitted size.

No injuries have been reported in connection with either recalled toy.

"If a water bead is ingested, it can pose ingestion, choking, and intestinal obstruction hazards inside a child’s body, resulting in severe discomfort, vomiting, dehydration and a risk of death to a child," the commission said.
Why you should care:
About 8,000 Squeezy Dumplings are included in the recall. The toys were sold on Amazon from May through June for approximately $20. The labels feature the phrases "SQUEEZY DUMPLINGS" and "SQUEEZE ME."

Approximately 7,200 Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun Toys were sold through third-party retailers nationwide from May through August. The front of the packaging is marked "Rainbow MYSTERY" and "SUGAR EDITION."
Both products are translucent, round squeeze toys with cartoon faces, glitter-like particles and water beads inside. They are sold in tan plastic containers shaped like bamboo steamers.
What you can do:
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled toys and contact the appropriate company for a full refund. To receive a refund, the CPSC said consumers should write "RECALLED" on the toy and its container, throw the product away and email a photo to the company.
The CPSC is also warning consumers to immediately stop using Squishy Bun Toys from Ivyapingdianpu and dispose of them because the products violate mandatory toy safety standards.
Those toys also contain water beads, but the retailer has not agreed to recall the products or provide a remedy, despite receiving a Notice of Violation, according to the commission.
About 106 toys are covered by the warning. The products have "SQUISHY BUN" and "Rainbow MYSTERY" printed on the front of a removable tag.
The toys were sold online through Amazon in June 2026 and may also have been available through third-party sellers and other websites.
No injuries have been reported in connection with the products. The CPSC urged anyone whose child is injured by one of the Squishy Bun toys or who notices a defect to contact the commission.
