2 killed in overnight crash in South LA

Two people were killed in an overnight crash in South LA, officials said.

An investigation is underway in South Los Angeles after two people were killed in a crash overnight.

What we know:

The crash happened on Normandie Avenue and Century Boulevard around midnight. 

A preliminary investigation revealed a Buick Envision was traveling northbound on Normandie and a Honda CR-V was traveling eastbound on Century when the Buick drove through a red traffic signal and collided with the Honda.  

SUGGESTED: Manhunt underway for hit-and-run driver

Two people in the Honda sustained major injuries and died at the scene, according to the LAPD.

What we don't know:

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
