Tropical Storm Rachel floods Newport Beach

Massive swells from Tropical Storm Rachel are bringing severe coastal flooding to Newport Beach. Powerful waves and unusually high tides are pushing seawater far inland, inundating parking lots, low-lying streets, and vulnerable coastal locations. The National Weather Service warns that these dangerous conditions are expected to  linger, with the highest tides peaking this Sunday morning. Please avoid exposed jetties, stay out of the water, and follow all local emergency guidance as this storm system continues to impact our coastline.
