Ex-LAPD detective rearrested in cold case

Former LAPD detective and convicted rapist Michael Douglas Brambles was rearrested in August 2026 following cold-case DNA evidence linking him to a 1994 kidnapping and robbery in Thousand Oaks. He had previously been paroled in 2020 after serving part of a 102-year sentence.
