Ventura County's 1st fentanyl murder case

In a historic legal precedent for Ventura County, Reseda resident Charity Faith Wiley pled guilty on July 6, 2026, to second-degree murder and several other felonies. Her conviction, which stems from the fentanyl and xylazine overdose death of a Simi Valley man, marks the county's very first murder conviction for a fentanyl-related overdose.
