City leaders call for boycott of local hotel over Brunei's anti-LGBTQ death penalty law
On Tuesday morning, L.A. Controller Ron Galperin and Councilmember Paul Koretz, joined by LGBTQ leaders, will call for swift action that impacts internationally-owned hotels in Southern California. It was announced that on April 3, Brunei will implement a new set of draconian criminal laws, including death sentences for LGBTQ people who engage in sex and for adulterers. They've also announced the punishment of thieves by amputation.
