Richard Weinroth discusses feeding the hungry by being 'Food Forward'
Did you know that 40-percent of food in the United States is wasted? Let's bring the problem closer to home. Connecting the one-point-2 million hungry people in Los Angeles and the tons of food going to waste is ?Food Forward.? The non-profit organization rescues fresh local produce headed for the trash bin and makes sure it gets to those in need. Joining us was Richard Weinroth. He's a former chef and the director of programs at Food Forward. 100% of what they collect is donated to food insecure individuals in Southern California.
