How car recalls get reported
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) officially start car recalls after receiving complaints from consumers.
Thousands of smoke detector fire alarms have been recalled over their failure to sound, posing a fire hazard.
According to the notice, published Thursday by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recall involves the LShome Photoelectric 3-Pack Smoke Detector Fire Alarms.

The recall includes 11,000 smoke detector fire alarms sold on Amazon from February 2024 through December 2025 for about $30.
If the detection threshold for the security warnings is set too high, the recall notice states that the alarm may fail to activate promptly, creating a potential fire risk.

The alarms are 9V battery-operated and have a light sound warning and test button.

The alarms are white and circular in shape with model number "XG-7D04-KZ9Z" and SKU number "CX-50YP-A5VN" printed on the bottom side of the alarm.
Consumers should stop using recalled smoke alarms
