Sexual assault suspect on the prowl in Van Nuys

Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department's Van Nuys division are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a sexual assault suspect.

On October 26, 2017, around 6:07 a.m., the victim was jogging southbound on Fulton Avenue towards Hatteras Street.

The suspect approached the victim from behind and sexually battered her.

The victim struggled with the suspect to break-free from his control. The suspect then attempted to pull her to the ground. The victim kicked and elbowed the suspect. The suspect released his grip and fled northbound Fulton Avenue and then eastbound Oxnard Street.

The victim followed the suspect for approximately 20 feet while calling 911. The victim eventually lost sight of the suspect.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, he stands about 5 feet 5 inches tall, thin built, goatee, and is approximately 25-30 years of age. He was last seen wearing a blue hoodie and black workout pants.
