A resident was assaulted and tied up early Monday during a reported home invasion robbery in West Hills, authorities say.

The robbery was reported at 7:45 a.m. in the 7800 block of Bobbyboyar Avenue. Los Angeles police said one of the suspects was dressed as a Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (DWP) worker, who was joined by two other suspects.

"These guys were coming out of the house, and one was carrying three boxes," neighbor Bob Gill told FOX 11, who called 911 after the robbery. "They put it in the bed of the back of the pickup and then they kind of sped off, and then the owner came out and said, 'I've been robbed. Call the police.'"

The male victim was taken to a nearby hospital for unknown injuries.

Investigators were reviewing home security footage in the area for additional clues.
