LONG BEACH, Calif. (FOX 11) - Students at Cal State University Long Beach are expressing disappointment and anger over a string of racial incidents on campus.

"I am sad that it's happening but I'm definitely not surprised," said Junior, Tiwani Oseni.

Last week, a racial slur was written on a men's bathroom wall near the lecture hall and a campus newspaper posted a photo of the racist rhyme which read: "Peas in a pod, birds of a feather, humans and blank should not be together."

"It's very unfortunate... it shouldn't be happening in a campus like this." Said, Karn Deepsingh, a Master's degree student.

University President Jane Close Conoley sent out a statement saying in part: "I vigorously condemn messages that demean any group. In this case, our Black students and organizations--as well as our entire community--can be assured that when we discover the source of this or any other vitriolic graffiti, we will remove it immediately and continue to investigate perpetrators."

The university has seen a string of racially charged incidents in the past month. On September 15, the student newspaper reported a pro-Nazi poster was hung on the wall's of the school's multicultural center. A day later, someone posted violent threats on the La Raza Student Association's Facebook page.

The threats have been reported to the FBI and are currently under investigation by campus police.
