(FOX 11) - A pursuit ended Tuesday night with a suspect firing at police through the window of his van before being taken into custody, authorities said.
Authorities said the chase began around 6 p.m. in Home Gardens, just outside of Corona. Officers suspected the man was involved in a recent shooting and when they tried to pull him over, the driver took off.
Investigators said the suspect shot at officers from a window while driving during the pursuit.
The chase ended near Van Buren Boulevard at Indiana Avenue in Riverside, where the suspect fled on foot.
Multiple law enforcement agencies responded and blocked streets to search for the gunman, who was later found and arrested.
A patrol car was damaged but no officers were injured. A gun was also recovered.
