LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11) - Political strategists Dave Jacobson and John Thomas came on Good Day LA to discuss the New York Times report that showed Donald Trump claimed a loss of nearly $916 million in a single year on his personal income taxes.
The paper reported the size of the loss may have allowed Trump to avoid owing federal taxes for nearly two decades, an assertion the campaign has neither confirmed nor disputed.
Trump's allies responded with a mix of arguments, casting Republican presidential candidate as a "genius" for using the tax system to rebuild his fortune while also suggesting the report was based on inauthentic documents and driven by biased reporting.
