Police seek help in locating man who attempted to abduct 9-year-old boy

Police officials are seeking the public's help in locating a man who attempted to abduct a nine-year-old boy in front of a elementary school in El Monte.

On Thursday Sept 16, outside of La Primaria Elementary School, a man walked up to the boy and grabbed his right wrist and then pulled at him as he waited for his mother, El Monte Police officials said in a written statement on Monday.

The boy was able to get away from the man, but suffered a scratch. The man is described as about 6 foot 2, 180 pounds, in his 30's, with a shaved head, pock marks on both sides of his face and brown eyes, wearing a black shirt with an unknown patter, black pants and reddish shoes, with a dragon tattoo on the back of his head, and the name "Maria" tattooed on the left side of his neck, with another tattoo of a skull on his upper chest, officials said.

The suspect was last seen running eastbound on Ramona Boulevard, according to the statement.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Eric Walterscheid at 626-580-2172.
