SANTA MONICA, Calif. - A shooting broke out near the Santa Monica Pier over the weekend.
What we know:
The Santa Monica Police Department responded to a call shortly after 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, August 23. According to police, a group approached a victim in an alleged robbery attempt. A fight ensued, and one of the suspects shot the victim in the leg.
The victim was taken to a hospital with injuries officials believe may be minor.
The suspects left the area before police arrived.
What we don't know:
As of 10 p.m. Sunday, no arrests had been announced, and officials have not yet released descriptions of the suspects involved.
