Job Finder: Repair Smith looking to fill 100 spots by end of year, with full benefits

Contactless everything seems to be the new normal these days because of the coronavirus and that includes getting your car repaired.

Turns out, people working from home are driving up business for Repair Smith, a company in El Segundo.

They’re currently hiring mobile mechanics, the company is looking to fill 50 jobs and 100 spots by the end of the year.

“Mechanics at different levels… and we're also going to be hiring some dispatchers and customer service agents throughout the year. So right now we're very actively hiring mechanics for our at-home delivery service,” said Joel Milne, C-E-O of Repair Smith.

Think quick, convenient car repair in the comfort of your own home and they’re tech-savvy too.

“You know the call. I mean, we are a tech startup first company, right. So, you know, we're very digital all of our technicians are on Slack… modern tools and they have all the latest equipment and they're driving around in Mercedes Benz brand new.” Milne said. “So really everything state of the art and everyone's part of building this new thing that we think is really great… tech-forward and you know we do consider ourselves a tech-enabled service delivering great service to customers.”

With the say-at-home order still in effect because of the pandemic, Repair Smith has found itself in the driver’s seat now more than ever since they’re mobile mechanics come to your home. All employees are trained, experienced and in demand.

“They work alone on a van. So they're not in tight quarters with other people. They work outside when they arrived there. We’ve retrained our procedure so that the customers can even stay in their house and just talk on the phone to the customer to the technician who's in the driveway.”

Joel says there are some entry-level positions but for the more advanced spots, experience is required, “on the technician side that they do need to be experienced five-plus years and certified and then we take, you know, we take varying levels from five to 25 years of experience. Our entry-level positions would be more in the customer service, or if they're in the automotive space we hire service writers and dispatchers as well, so varying levels of experience from, you know, customer service, all the way to master technician. Employees get full benefits too, 100% company-paid health for the individual, you know, dental, vision, etc.”
