Iran latest: Ceasefire tested again after UAE, Kuwait report drones in airspace

The ongoing ceasefire in the Middle East continues to hold even as Iran’s Revolutionary Guard threatened to launch a "heavy assault" on a U.S. base if any more Iranian oil tankers or commercial vessels are attacked.

The ceasefire was tested again on Sunday when a drone set a small fire on a ship off the coast of Qatar, while the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait reported separate drones entering their airspaces.

On Friday, the U.S. struck two Iranian oil tankers, leading to questions about if the temporary pause in the fighting would continue. American forces reported the incident happened after the tankers departed from an Iranian port and tried running the U.S. blockade.

The United Kingdom revealed Saturday that one of its warships is headed to the region and will protect commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz once the war ends. Previously, France said its aircraft carrier strike group would go to the Red Sea as part of an operation with the British.
