Homicide detectives investigating 'suspicious' death of 4-year-old boy in South Los Angeles

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (FOX 11) - Authorities Thursday were investigating the death of a 4-year-old boy in South Los Angeles.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to the 4600 block of Honduras Street around 3 a.m. From there, the boy was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators said that the death involved "suspicious circumstances," which is why it is being investigated as a homicide, but did not release any additional information.

The boy's identity has not yet been released.

The cause of death is under investigation.
