Former employee arrested for allegedly vandalizing Costa Mesa restaurant

Two women have been arrested after one allegedly vandalized a South Coast Plaza restaurant with a bat.

Officers responded to a restaurant on the 3300 block of Bristol Street in the South Coast Plaza area around 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Officers say a female suspect walked into the restaurant with a bat and began being disruptive. The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Passion Shenay Coleman, was a former employee.

It was reported that Coleman used a bat to vandalize a television, table settings, and plates causing thousands of dollars in damages.

Police say people inside the restaurant had to leave and evening reservations were cancelled.

Costa Mesa Police say another woman, 24-year-old Laglennda Damona Carr, was with  Coleman and was reportedly yelling and being disruptive as well.

Once on scene, officers located the two in a nearby parking lot attempting to drive away. Officers pulled them over and took both women into custody.

Prior to this incident, police say earlier in the day Coleman went to the restaurant, made criminal threats and had thrown a plate at a restaurant employee before fleeing the scene.
