The sticks, which appeared to be about 25 years old, were found about 2:35 p.m. in the 2400 block of Hill Drive, Officer Mike Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section said.
Some homes were evacuated about 4:45 p.m., when it was determined the items were props and not a threat, he said.
