Survey: 4 out of 10 people blame the boss for distracted driving

- About four in every ten drivers admit to using their cellphones while driving...often because they don't want to upset the boss!

The survey by Harris Poll for Travelers Insurance shows how work-related pressures play a part in distracted driving.

Many said that work requirements make them feel that they need to be available at all hours of the day.

43-percent of the people surveyed were in touch with work either by talking on the phone, texting, or e-mailing during their drive.

More than a quarter of those said that their employer called or texted them - even though the boss knew the employee was behind the wheel.
