Racers, Celebrities Gear Up For The Toyota Grand Prix Of Long Beach

Celebrities are revving up for the Toyota Grand Prix in Long Beach. The 2013 winner, Rutledge Wood says "There's a term in racing, checkers or wreckers. You're either first across the finish line or I'm going home on the back of a tow truck."

They're racing to support Racing for Kids. Toyota is forking over five thousand dollar per driver to the charity.

Actor Robert Patrick says, "the trash talking is for later when we start grinding the gears and banging the bumper."

Olympic swimmer and 2002 Grand Prix champion Dara Torres says her strategy is to keep her head down, "you're right they're talking smack already but I'm gonna keep quiet and go out there and see what happens."

Besides the celebrity race the Indy car race caps off the Grand Prix weekend with Indy 500 champion Ryan Hunter-Reay competing in this round with other pro drivers.

He says, "this is kind of a homecoming for me. I lived in Dana Point for 7 years and I got engaged here so it means something to me to be here."

The Toyota Grand Prix events take place April 17-19th.
