Was it lightning that started a Whittier fire?

WHITTIER, CA (FOX 11) - It was just after 11 a.m. in the morning on Tuesday. LA County Fire says wind kicked around some power lines. Whether that was because of a lightning strike appears to be the source of a debate between two families in the two homes damaged by heavy smoke and flames.

LA County Fire says two witnesses said they saw lighting strike a home in the 11100 block of Leland. The Triolo family that lives next door says that's not the case. They say there was no lightning.

LA County Fire says they based their account on two witnesses who said they saw lightning hit a power pole and drop lines which started a shed on fire and was fed by debris around the shed. The fire, complete with heavy black smoke and intense flame, jumped over into the Triolo family's yard scorching the whole thing. Leonard Triolo and his wife say fortunately none of the kids or pets were hurt.

LA County Fire says it took about 21 minutes to knock the flames down.
