Visually impaired students shine in 'Portraits of Hope' in West L.A.

They call the project "Portraits of Hope" and when it's finished, it will be a spectacular sight at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

On Saturday in West Los Angeles, students from the Braille Institute got to help out with the massive art installation.

Being visually impaired didn't stop these students from making art. They used special techniques and textured materials to paint the massive panels in vibrant colors.

The project is in its last days before the panels are rolled up and then transported to the Convention Center downtown where they will be installed on the exterior to look much like the artist's rendition.

The project is the biggest public art project in the country.
