The shooting occurred about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 3200 block of East 19th Street, the Signal Hill Police Department reported. Residents at the home reported that three masked men, two of whom had guns, forced their way into the home that was occupied by five people. Two senior citizens inside the home were asleep at the time, police said.

Authorities said that the alleged robbers tried to use zip-ties to restrain the victims inside the home. When the victims tried to fight them off, the suspects shot and wounded two of the victims before fleeing.
