Surveillance video captures beating, stabbing of South LA store owner

LOS ANGELES (CNS/FOX 11) - Police on Wednesday sought the public's help in identifying three suspects who stabbed and clobbered a South Los Angeles store owner who tried to stop them from leaving with alcohol for which they did not pay.

The victim was working about 7 p.m. on Sept. 21 at his store in the 5400 block of South Hooper Avenue when two males and a female entered and then tried to leave without paying for bottles of alcohol, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

A fight broke out when the proprietor tried to stop them, police said.

"During the altercation, one of the suspects hit the victim on the head with a bottle and repeatedly kicked him in the head,'' according to an LAPD statement. "Another suspect stabbed the victim in the abdomen. All three
suspects ran away from the scene.''

The assault was caught on a surveillance camera, police said.

The male suspects are described as between 15 and 19 years old and the female was described as about 18 years old.
