Students from across the Inland Empire attend the 'Best Buddies' prom

(FOX 11) - Hundreds come out to celebrate prom, but instead of dates these kids have buddies. Best Buddies is a non-profit which pairs general education students and students with intellectual disabilities.

Together the best buddies learn a lot about each other but their experiences go far beyond the dance floor.

Organizers say the students foster friendships beyond, creating an environment of acceptance and giving back.
