Evacuations lifted for 260-acre Little Mountain area fire in San Bernardino

The wind-driven wildfire that erupted in the Little Mountain area of San Bernardino grew to 260 acres with 100-percent containment as of Wednesday evening, according to San Bernardino County fire officials.

The fire was located near University Parkway and W. Varsity Avenue. Fire officials said the blaze spread rapidly and threatened structures.

Mandatory evacuations were ordered for Bond Street in San Bernardino and for homes east of Little Mountain Drive and north of Edgehill Road.

Two people were burned and taken to the hospital in critical condition.
