Police respond to possible burglary at home owned by Rihanna

- Police were investigating a possible burglary Wednesday at a Hollywood home that is believed to belong to the nine-time Grammy-winning singer Rihanna.

Officers responded to a home in the 7800 block of Hillside Avenue about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to Officer Mike Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.

An alarm was sounding and lights were flashing at the home, but no one was inside at the time, according to authorities.

"Things are safe here in the community, for anyone who lives nearby,'' LAPD Capt. Cory Palk told news outlets. "We're here, we'll be here for several hours. We do have burglaries in the Hollywood community, up in the hills, occasionally. We will investigate and I think with the evidence we have, we'll be able to solve this crime soon.''

Police examined security video from inside the home.

A description of any suspect or suspects was not immediately available, Lopez said.

In May, a Fullerton man was arrested after an assistant for the musician found him inside the singer's home at the same address. Police alleged Eduardo Leon, 26, broke into Rihanna's house and spent 12 hours inside.

Leon was charged with stalking, first-degree residential burglary and vandalism.

Celebrities including Alanis Morissette, Nicki Minaj, Emmy Rossum, Jaime Pressly, David Spade, Christina Milian, Yasiel Puig, Derek Fisher and Byron Scott have all been victimized by burglaries or attempted burglaries in the Hollywood or Beverly Hills area over the last couple years.
