Motorcyclist killed in Glendale Freeway crash in the Echo Park area

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11) - A man was killed Wednesday afternoon when he crashed into a guardrail in his motorcycle on the Glendale (2) Freeway in the Echo Park area of Los Angeles, fire officials said.

The crash occurred shortly after 2 p.m. on the southbound 2 freeway where it transitions onto Glendale Boulevard.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not immediately released.

Two southbound traffic lanes were closed heavily impacting traffic through the area, according to the California Highway Patrol. Drivers should expect delays. It's unknown when the lanes will reopen.

No further details were immediately known. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
