More reports of shots fired at Malibu Creek State Park

There have been two new reports of shots fired at Malibu State Park in the past week.

Reports say deputies came to the state park campground in Malibu seven times in the past two years to respond to shootings, including the fatal shooting on June 2 of a 35-year-old chemist from Irvine in front of his two little girls.

Deputies did not find any evidence of a shooting in the two most recent reports, though they have stepped up patrols in the area and are urging residents to avoid early-morning hours at the park.

Authorities are also offering a $5,000 reward to information leading to an arrest in the fatal shooting.
