Man in LAPD shirt caught on video yelling 'White power' at protesters

The Los Angeles Police Department has launched an investigation into racially discriminating remarks outside a gym in Hollywood possibly involving one of their one men in uniform.

The group Black Lives Matter - Los Angeles posted a video on social media that shows a man wearing an LAPD shirt repeatedly saying "White power" as he gestures with his hand at a group of protestors outside 24-Hour Fitness as they ask for his badge number.

The group was demonstrating after the death of a man who was shot and killed by LAPD.

Los Angeles police say they are working to identify the individual seen making "White power" gestures in the video and whether he works for the LAPD. They have not yet confirmed his identity.

A tweet from LAPD says officers from the Hollywood division "attempted to make contact with the individual at the scene but he fled on foot." They're asking anyone with information regarding this case to call them at 800-339-6868.
