LA Metro is first in the nation to deploy full body scanners for security

LA County Metro will be the first in the nation to deploy body scanners.

The scanners will screen passengers for weapons and explosives.

But these scanners are different from ones at the airport.

They're portable and can do a full-body screening of passengers walking through a station without slowing them down.

The machines will look for metallic and non-metallic objects on a person's body scanning more than two-thousand passengers per hour.
