Investigation underway after body found near Metrolink train in Pico Rivera

An investigation is underway after a man's body was discovered near the Metrolink train tracks in Pico Rivera.

Investigators responded to the tracks between Slauson ave. and Washington Blvd. around 9 a.m. Sunday for reports of an unconscious person.

When law enforcement arrived on scene they located a deceased man near the railroad.

A cause of death is not known at this time, but officers say there were no obvious signs of trauma.

The victim was identified the man Monday as 27-year-old Joshua Paul Andrade.

Andrade was homeless, officials said.

According to Amtrak, the police activity caused delays on its Pacific Surfliner trains from Los Angeles through Orange County and into San Diego County.

Metrolink officials said they will be providing reimbursements for riders who were affected by the train cancellation or delay.
