Home burglary turns into shooting in unincorporated Pasadena

At least one person has been taken to the hospital following a reported shooting in the 3600 block of East Grayburn Road in unincorporated Pasadena.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office is asking the public to avoid the area of Rosemead Boulevard and north of Huntington Drive, and south of Del Mar Avenue. They tweeted that deputies are conducting a burglary investigation.

Authorities say the suspect, described as a white male adult in his mid-30s, was taken to a local hospital with a gunshot wound. The suspect is in stable condition after being shot in the torso, according to Deputy Ed Luna with the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department.

Shortly before 3:30 p.m., deputies received a call about a burglary. A woman pulling up to her home saw a man running out, according to Deputy Luna. When deputies arrived at the woman's house to investigate, they got a report of shots fired at a nearby house.

Authorities say the neighbor of that house shot the suspect during that attempted burglary.

Residents are allowed into their homes if they provide identification but the street remains closed to through traffic.

No further details were immediately known. The investigation is ongoing. This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
