First ever Hello Kitty Grand Cafe opens in Irvine

IRVINE, Calif. (FOX 11) - The Hello Kitty Grand Cafe officially opened for business Friday at the Irvine Spectrum Center -- the only permanent cafe in the U.S. featuring a casual cafe setting and a private room for reservation-only afternoon tea and cocktails.

Customers can order a sweet treat at the Hello Kitty Grand Cafe with grab and go seating for up to 12 people, or make reservations for the hidden Bow Room at Hello Kitty Grand Cafe for afternoon tea by day and cocktail service by night.

The Afternoon Tea Service, which also includes fresh fruit, savory tea sandwiches and a selection of sweets, is $55 per person and available Wednesday through Sunday.

Starting at 5 p.m Wednesday through Sunday, the Bow Room turns into a cocktail bar for those 21 and up serving adult libations with a Hello Kitty twist.

"As the first brick-and-mortar cafe concept of its kind in the U.S., Hello Kitty Grand Cafe combines our signature fast-causal setting with an all-new immersive dining experience through our Afternoon Tea Service for guests of all ages and Cocktail Service that caters to our adult fans. We look forward to debuting the latest evolution of Hello Kitty Cafe as a new destination in Southern California."
