E.J. Jackson, man behind Annual South L.A. Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner Giveaway, dies

There will be an empty seat at the Thanksgiving table this year...E.J. Jackson, the well-known local businessman who spent decades giving away turkey dinners in South Los Angeles has died.

Jackson was the founder of the 'Jackson Limousine' Service. His company believes he died of a heart attack.

For nearly 34-years, Jackson and his foundation collected and donated thousands of turkey dinners to the less fortunate here in South Los Angeles.

Last year, they distributed about 12,000 thanksgiving baskets, which included turkey, vegetables, and flowers.

Jackson's death comes as preparations are underway for this year's giveaway.
