Deadline to apply for Woolsey Fire disaster assistance is Thursday

Homeowners, renters and businesses affected by the Woolsey Fire have until Thursday to apply for disaster financial assistance, FEMA said.

Those impacted by the destructive Nov. 2018 wildfire can apply online at disasterassistance.gov or call FEMA at 1-800-621-3362.

The deadline for free debris removal is also Thursday. To obtain application forms call 626-979-5370 or visit lacounty.gov/lacountyrecovers.

The Debris Removal Operations Center is located at 26610 Agoura Road in Calabasas and is open between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

The Woolsey Fire broke out Nov. 8 in Ventura County and burned 96,949 acres throughout Ventura and Los Angeles counties, fire officials said. Approximately 1,500 structures were destroyed, 341 were damaged and three civilians were killed.
