Fire engulfed a two-story commercial building in downtown Los Angeles Monday night, causing gas cylinders inside to explode and forcing firefighters to battle the flames from a distance.

No injuries were immediately reported as a result of the fire, which was reported about 8:10 p.m. at a wholesaler and distributor of smoking materials, called "SmokeTokes," at 330 E. Third St., according to Brian
Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

More than 160 firefighters responded to the blaze, which continued to burn over two hours after it was reported.

At least one adjacent structure was threatened by the flames, but firefighters kept it from being damaged, Humphrey said.
