Chatsworth homeowners say panhandlers are too aggressive

What to do about the homeless?

It's a problem almost any place you live in Southern California, we try to be compassionate but sometimes people get fed up. That's the situation in Chatsworth in the San Fernando Valley where a group of homeowners feel that panhandlers were being too aggressive or creating a lot of fear among residents who are simply trying to go to the grocery store or shop at the Ralphs Plaza at Devonshire and Canoga.

So, on Saturday they are trying something new called Safe Shopping where concerned residents will actually escort people to and from their cars in the shopping center, people who are afraid of being accosted.

They're sensitive to being accused of not caring but insist that is not the case.
