Average U.S. price of gas per gallon drops to $2.41

The average U.S. price of regular-grade gasoline plummeted over the past three weeks Wednesday to $2.407, a price point not seen since December of 2017.

According to AAA figures, the average sits at four cents cheaper than last week, 28 cents cheaper than last month and four cents less than last year.

While high, many state averages were lower on the week: Alaska (-8 cents), Hawaii (-7 cents) and California (-7 cents).
