6 students hospitalized after ingesting unknown substance at local middle school

Six children were in stable condition Tuesday after ingesting an unknown substance at a local middle school, authorities said.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to Palms Middle School, located at 10860 W Woodbine Street, just before 11 a.m. Tuesday. Officials said that the six individuals were transported from the middle school campus to area hospitals for further medical evaluation.

According to school police, all the students were listed in stable condition and with their parents.

It was not known what substance the students came into contact with or whether the substance was intentionally ingested, fire officials said.

Palms Middle is a public middle school for students in grades sixth-eighth.
