Students learn television production ropes in TV Academy Foundation's internship program

Getting into the television business can be tough, but thanks to the Television Academy Foundation's Internship Program, students can gain an edge by learning the ropes firsthand.

The program provides 50 internships in over 30 different categories to college students across the country. During an eight-week, paid summer period in Los Angeles -- both undergradate and graduate students get valuable exposure to professional television production.

Madeline Di Nonno, chair of the Television Academy Foundation, "Big Little Lies" actress Kathryn Newton, and Shandel Menezes, one of the academy's current news interns, joined us on Good Day LA to talk about the program.
