Kamala Harris in Altadena to tour Eaton Fire zone
LOS ANGELES - Following the inauguration of Donald Trump, former VP Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff traveled to Los Angeles to visit the Eaton Fire area.
Harris flew out of Joint Base Andrews bound for California with an all-female US Air Force crew on her flight. According to an aide of the former VP, this is the first time an all-female crew has operated a C-32 for the US Air Force.
After landing in Los Angeles, Harris visited fire station 12 in Altadena to thank firefighters and passed out food to impacted community members with World Central Kitchen.
Harris and Emhoff have a home in Brentwood, which was one of the locations impacted by evacuations from the Palisades Fire.
"It was really important to us, before we went home and we are some of the lucky ones, our home is still standing. We wanted to come out and in particular to this extraordinary community and just let people know that we see them and that they are cared for. And as I said to these courageous and extraordinary firefighters, moments of crisis really do reveal the heroes among us," Harris told reporters at the fire station.

"Los Angeles is going to continue to be what Los Angeles is, a place that is strong and knows how to rebuild. And I have, over the last two weeks, been a part of a lot of the work that has been about ensuring that Los Angeles will receive the federal support that it so rightly deserves."
President Trump is expected to arrive in California on Friday to tour the fire zones.
