Suspect arrested in arson investigation following string of fires set in Studio City

A suspect was arrested after an arson investigation was launched Friday morning following a string of fires set in Studio City overnight.

The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed 11 small fires were set across Ventura Boulevard that targeted vehicles and trash containers.

The first call came in just after 4:00 a.m. and subsequently led to multiple calls from residents located on Ventura Blvd. and surrounding areas.

Firefighters worked to quickly distinguish the fires, which were all confirmed as arson. No injuries were reported.

A possible suspect was detained and arrested, fire officials said. The suspect was a convicted serial arsonist, fire official's said.

FOX 11 exclusively learned of footage taken from a home security camera that showed a dark, shadowy figure lurking outside a cafe in Studio City before one of the fires broke out.
